I supposidly took out a pretty large student loan from Sallie Mae back in 2004 and I am just now hearing about it. As soon as the six month after graduation date hit, I have been swarmed with mail to tell me when my first payment is due.

What???

I did not see any of the money, how do they expect me to pay something back that I never recieved money on.

Neither my school account nor personal account have any proof that I recieved this sum of money. No money was put towards my tuition, and no money was reemburssed to me. All I have showing on my payment activity over the past 5 years was credit card payments month after month, NO loan money was recieved.

I am sure they (and other loan companies) do this to students all the time, if I was not 100% sure I never recieved this money, I would second guess my judgement since it was so long ago.

UGH, I am very very frustrated.

I happen to work in this industry... Speak with Sallie Mae ask for a copy of your MPN( Master Promisary Note) with your signature. Also get a breakdown on how finanical aid was used according to the loan disbursment date from the MPN. Often what happens schools do not return money if loans are cancelled which leaves students on the hook. If Sallie Mae sent the check they can provide proof check was cashed! If school return the funds school should have proof

Comments on Sallie Mae is a bunch of liars
