CommentThey harass people to the point of suicide. They threaten schizophrenic spouses of the borrower. They are the worst scum and our own Congress did this. And thank Bill CLinton and George Bush for allowing it to. And Ted Kennedy and others for taking bribes while they sold us down the river.
No matter how much you pay, you can never pay it off. Interest and penalties send the loan 3 or 4 times higher than it was. If you DO pay, do it with money orders. Their new trick is to try to get you to pay over the phone through your bank account - DON'T!
They will clean you out. They don't care if you become homeless, if you are disabled, very ill or unemployed. People who borrowed from Sallie Mae may as well be cotton plantation slaves. Their lives are over. My life is over. I am the walking dead. I am now dependent on a schizophrenic to not screw me over, because I am old and cannot get work and I will get my Social Security garnished if I live that long. My life is a toilet and there is no way out. I thank my country for screwing me worse than any terrorist.

Do you think people get away with that if it were a loan for a home or a car?? NO they take that house or car back! Sallie Mae can not take your degree so when it's time to be A RESONSIBLE ADULT everyone gets upset saying Sallie Mae is the bad one. WRONG. #2 Sallie Mae does not lie, cheat, or torture. We run on FEDERAL LAWS and last time I checked Sallie Mae is not the one who makes those laws. The calls are well within FEDERAL REGULATIONS. It is called due diligence. Google it if you need verification on what that is. #3 Sallie Mae has people just like you working for them. The reps are not trying to ruin your life. Sallie Mae has a collections department to keep you from defaulting. They offer repayment plans and forbearance. Sallie Mae gives you the money to make something of yourself. What you decide to do with the funds for that opportunity is on you. How much you take out is on you. Not reading your promissory note and knowing what your signing up for is ON YOU not Sallie Mae. |
